Job Description
ODP Anaesthetic practitioners have the important role of providing a patient with the safe administration of anaesthesia and then monitoring the patient throughout a procedure. Attention to detail is a must.
Key performance indicatorsÂ
- Responsible for maintaining active status with the HCPC Register
- Act always in accordance with the HCPC Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics (SCPE)
- Adhere to the host trusts’ policy and procedures
- Responsible for assurance of appropriate indemnity insurance
- Maintain a professional portfolio with evidence of learning and clinical hours in accordance with HCPC
- Comply with infection prevention control policies and procedures at all times.
Qualifications
To enable temporary workers to complete clinical shifts, Registered ODP’s must be able to provide evidence of:
- ODP qualification
- Evidence of continued learning
- DBS Clearance/update service
Required skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of importance of quality of care and changes in practice
- Ability to work in differing areas as required
- Proven clinical expertise
- Mandatory training in date as per protocol
- 6-month post qualification experience in a clinical setting
